When Madrika, sixteen, loses her beloved grandmother, the only family she has ever known, an incredible, magical journey begins. Everything ordinary (enchanted apple spice muffins, wolf companions with whom she speaks, her extraordinary ability to hear thoughts of others) become trivial compared to her gloriously extraordinary new life ahead. Before the first step, Madrika learns there is far more to her than she or anyone in her sleepy little town might have imagined: Madrika is powerfully magical!
